In good vintage condition, this is a beautiful and rare piece.

The sculpture captures a man performing Kapparot. He is holding a prayer book in his left hand and holding a live chicken above his head with his other hand. 

Kapparot is a Jewish ritual that involves waving a chicken over one's head while reciting a prayer. The word kaparot means "atonements" or "ransom". The ritual is performed on Yom Kippur Eve by some Orthodox Jews: A person swings a live chicken around their head three times while reciting a prayer

Kapparot involves swinging a living chicken three times around your head while reciting a prayer. Traditionally, men use roosters and women hens.

It has green felt, in good condition on the base.

Hallmarked: 925. There are no maker or date hallmarks.
